Measure for measure.
You may have noticed that I haven't posted a picture of a clothing garment I've made in quite some time. I've been sticking to flowers and purses and scarves, because I have a real problem making anything that ends up fitting a normal-sized person. I would do great if I had a 50 inch waist and a 15 inch bust; or if my arms reached passed my knee caps - or if I had odd shaped friends to knit for.
It's not just about mis-gauging, although I could write a thing or two about that! It's about knowing your measurements before you begin and checking the work frequently along the way.
I thought a good way to make a renewed commitment to this practice would be to record detailed measurements of myself. I searched the Internet for a chart or something, but when I didn't find what I was looking for, I made one up. If you email me or send a comment, I'd be happy to send you a useable copy. Of course, after you've taken your measurements, if you find you have extremely long arms or an extra wide torso, let me know. I have a few sweaters I could send along.

I would sure appreciate a copy! Thanks for even thinking of it!!!

Honestly, I've been going onto the computer lately just to see what you've done. You never fail to entertain me - and inspire me to keep up with something - ANYTHING that's on two needles!
Hope all's well.
Love, D

In your copious spare time you should make one for men as well.
I've learned from sad experience that I should not make things that can't be tried on while still on the needles.

Looks great! Send me one! Last week I made chart to keep track of all my needles, regular, DPN's and circular. Your chart would make my knitting file even more professional(/dorky).
Also, I was looking at your "Knitting gone bad" yesterday, and today I saw a person here in Uppsala wearing something quite like it, but blue and white, and not only worn on the head but also wrapped around the neck as a scarf. Time for reassessment?

i would love a printable version. thanks. this is a great idea.
i don't think you would be doing great if you had a 50" waist and a 15" bust maybe the other way around.

That looks like a fabulous measurement chart, it would really make things easier to have it all written down. I would love a useable copy!
