It's Oscar Knit!

Oscardoll_1Are you ready for the Red Carpet? I am.
Now, Cast Your Vote (via comment):
Which of these do you think should win the Oscar for Best Picture?

Berocco Mountain - A touching love story about a strong worsted weight yarn named Suede who falls for Lavish, a fanciful eyelash, who just wants to ride along with Suede into the sunset.

Good Knit and Good Luck - A crisply paced docudrama in which a seasoned TV reporter takes on the conservative crochet movement of the 1950's, attempting to help a group of knitters who are blacklisted when they refuse to make poodle-covered gin bottles and toliet paper cozies.

Clapotis - A riveting bio-pic about an avant-garde author who travels to the Midwest, wraps himself up in a little French shawl and quickly reveals everyone's biases.

Stash - A moving morality piece set in L.A. that asks the question: can leftover skeins of acrylic and remnant wool all live together in a world without their labels?

Muknitch - All hell breaks lose in this action packed thriller as knitters are taken hostage by the Harlot's Olympic challenge.

And the Oscar goes to....

I vote for stash!!!

Good Knit and Good Luck - the drama, the suspense, the poodle toilet paper covers. How could it not win?

Muknitch!

Great contenders tho... :)

STASH - for outstanding drama and high marks for screen writing and technical wizardry. Love your blog. Andrea

Muknitch

I vote for Good Knit and Good Luck. And I LOVE your nominees! Hollywood should be so clever.

Ooooooo....tough call.....I'll go with Muknitch. So moving. So chilling a reminder of the tribulations of the actual Harlot Olympics...

It is a most difficult choice but I think the Oscar should go to............Muknitch.

This post should win for "Most Creative"

My vote: Clapotis!!!!!!!!!!

I cast my vote for Stash. It was a really tough choice! Very cool!

My choice is Muknitch. This film offered a gritty reminder of horrific events in recent memory that many of us would like to forget - or pretend we never had any part in. The terror of the actual incident...the horrible impact on the loved ones of the knitters...the shock felt 'round the world as the news spread...

All this is captured in a film that will no doubt have an impact of its own as it helps us to relive the time, place, and events of that Knitting Olympics, and perhaps offers a fresh perspective on what it meant in the scheme of our lives.

(I may be biased. It's possible that this film touched me personally, as I was one of the Olympic Knitters whose participation came to a catastrophic end.)

Who could decide? They are all winners!

Definitely Muknitch...the Harlot's crimes against humanity have to be brought to light!!! (There's a fine line between genious and insanity isn't there??)

OMG, I'm laughing so hard right now. I vote for Stash. Can't we all just knit a long?

Muknitch! How clever!

I have to go with Berocco Mountain, which made me cry into my swatch.

What a tough call! They all are great. I think it may have to go to Muknitch - those memories are so fresh in many knitter's minds. :)

Muknit! Definitely! (my poor wrists are still trying to get over the olympic trials and tribulations)

nope, nope, nope, it's gotta be Berroco Mountain, across the board. It's the critical darling this year, even if in this flick there's eyelash included & that mix just clashes, they were meant for each other (obviously! duh).

Ha! This is great jolly fun & a spectacularly inventive idea. Thanks! Yay for Oscar Knit!

I have an Oscar something or other on my site, but yours is much more fun. Your blog is incredible, so I am glad to stumble upon here today.

oh definately stash!

I vote for Good Knit and Good Luck. I'm still haunted by my grandmother's toilet paper cozies.

That is too funny! Hmmm...think I will go with Clapotis.

Stash, hands down ;)
Great great post!

Ah, so clever with "Clapotis!" I loved that film, but think Berroco Mountain will be the winner....

Oh this is too funny! I'd vote for Berroco Mountain ... I'd like to help the underdog!
