Happy St. Patrick's Day.
And NO! I did not knit the leprechaun, but he is awfully cute.
The buzz for the day seems to be about how each of the Catholic archdioceses have issued statements about whether their parishioners can "partake of the corn beef in good conscience" even though today should be a Lenten (fish only) Friday. Many cardinals and bishops have granted special dispensation and have encouraged anyone who "partakes of the corn beef" to perform a charitable act.
Do you think that buying a round of beer for friends will qualify??
Ha! Sorry. Couldn't resist. Forgive me - it was just a brew-ha-ha not intended to cause a brew-ha-ha.

I have always found the dispensation bit silly. I have come to find the whole meatless friday thing silly. We eat so little meat nowadays, it is hardly a sacrifice. Just another rule to follow.
