Katzenbloggers
Here's a question:
What is it about cats and knitting blogs? Seems like there must be some strange connection between the two. I mean, I love my three guys (Jed, Dexter and Dewey) and I did introduce you to them back in March, but I'm not crazy about the whole "look at my cat with my half-knit socks" sort of thing. Am I missing a whole blog audience by not going in this direction? Am I just a sour puss because I've never knit a sock? Did I just lose half of the few reader I have?
But while I'm on this cat-o-tonic subject, I thought I'd share my "tuxedo cat kitsch" collection. Now, I am pretty good at finding stuff on the web, but try as I might, I could not find a picture or a pattern to knit up a tuxedo cat. I'm sure I'll think of something.
And if you should come upon any black and white cat stuff out there, give me a shout. Like skeins of Noro, I can never have enough.

Please please please don't start adding more cat stuff! I avoid like the plague blogs that are all cats with some knitting. The occasional photo, fine. But a daily dose is just too much.
(Although, in the interest of full disclosure, you may be missing out on a core group of people who love that stuff. My rule of thumb for my blog is that I don't write it if I wouldn't want to read it. And it sounds as if you don't love reading it. I hope.)

At the risk of offending some bloggers out there - any post filled with cat pictures immediately causes me to move on. I mean, one "here's my cute pet" picture is fine - but day after day it gets a little old. Expecially when speech bubbles are added to the pictures - ack!!

I love tuxedo cats too! I've got a real one at home. :)

Cat stuff doesn't offend me (hey, I'm a Mama Cat myself - my rl name is really something close to Cat and I'm a Mama). But I agree that when I go to a knitting blog, I mainly want to read about knitting, not about cute kitties. Love yours btw - read it every morning with my coffee. Forget where I saw the link but glad I got it.
I share my home with a fat tuxedo cat called Gracie, fwiw.

I admit I have never owned a cat. I think it's why I am only a mediocre knitter. Thanks for the Yarn Minders. I just got them in the mail and they are going with me to SnB tonight.

I am a dog person. And I've only put three photos of my dog on my blog in posts (there is one of her on the blog itself wearing a 'my momma is a yarn ho' shirt which I feel doesn't count since she's warning people.) Did I mention I'm a dog person? Cats make me itchy. Seriously itchy. And wheezy.
And will you hate me forever when I tell you that my favorite bumper sticker (that I can't put on my car - you know, 'cuz of the curse) is "Ask me about microwaving cats for fun and profit"? *grin*
I'm sure I'll piss someone off with that - bring on the flaming ;o)

heh heh heh...It's uncanny how you managed to put into words exactly what I feel when I look at all these pictures of CATS all over my favorite KNITTING blogs!! And I really like cats, too! You're funny!

Oh so guilty as charged here!
But... I do intersperse pictures of my cats with pictures of llamas and tadpoles.
Of course if I got time to actually knit more, I'd have more pictures of knitting! I figure the cats, llamas, and tadpoles are more interesting then, "here's another two rows of 200+ stitches of stockinette done on the blanket...
(Love your cat stuff collection though!)

My blog is about things I like, and right now I'm in love with my cat, so I've put some photos of her on the blog. She has only lived with us for a month, so I guess it's a new thing for me. I think everyone should blog about what they like!
And no, it's not a knitting thing. I see cats all over the blogosphere, with painting artists, collage makers, women who sew or just write about family. Dogs and cats are falling from the sky! :-) Maybe it's a creative people thing?
