Mystic Pizzazz

Mystic_riverNext stop - Mystic River Yarns. Housed in an old turn- of-the-century maritime factory, this shop is a gem. It's a big store with high ceilings and just about every brand and type of yarn you can imagine. The owner, Hansina "Sina" was amazingly knowledgeable and there are lots of knit-up samples to get your creative juices flowing. She has a great selection of Ellyn Cooper yarns which are high-end, high quality multi-strand skeins of what I would call "fiber art."

I didn't treat myself to one of those, but instead try to create my own trio Mysticballusing  a spun silk Tilli Tomas, a Gerifil nylon and a ColorLash. The plan is to make a shawl. I have a new found appreciation for Ellyn Cooper!

Plan a a half hour trip to the Mystic Aquarium and spend the rest of the day here fishing for yarn.

Oooh, that one looks awesome!!!! I need to get there soon. :) Can't wait to see what's next tomorrow.

That looks like a store I could easily get lost in. Forever.

Growing up there was a book I would read about these two kids that lived in a museum. I think that is where I'd like to live at Mystic River.

Looks like a fantastic store -- I'm so jealous. ;-)

Thanks for your comments on my blog. I'm glad your surgery went well and you're feeling better!
