Good Knit. Steek tight.
Someone asked me yesterday, "When do you sleep?" and I thought, "I wonder if knitters get asked this question more than others?" Obviously, non-knitters have a hard time figuring out how we can possible find the time for it. Personally, on average, I knit about two hours a day (in the cooler weather) and mostly its between 10 p.m. and midnight while watching TV. Some times, if I am lucky, I have to wait somewhere (doctor's office, DMV) during the day and I sneek in 15 minutes here or there. But when I read other people's blogs (which brings us back to the question of 'when do you sleep?" I am amazed at how much knitting other people get done. Much more than me. And I want to say to them "When do you sleep?"
Frankly, I believe sleep is overated, and it's only when I am in the middle of doing it, or coming to the end of it, that I want to do more of it. (Ummm - kinda like sex.)
We've already established in an earlier survey that we definitely would rather knit than have sex - but this time I am wondering, how much time do you knit, and how much time do you sleep? Do you find yourself quietly clacking away after the world has gone to bed?

One of the few things I love more than knitting is sleep! I need 8 eights a night, and usually get around 7-8. Comparatively speaking, I knit, like you, for one or two hours a day. Now, sex... that's definitely less than 2 hours a day. :)

Well, I've got to sleep about 7 hours, or I'm hell to live with. For my children, I try to protect the sleep time. I knit probably around 1-2 hours a day, unless I end up spinning or beading, in which case make it about 30 minutes to an hour.

I'm bad. I let blogging and e-mails come before knitting so I might only knit an average of 15 minutes these days. :(

I generally sleep from 12:30AM-6:15AM. I accomplish my knitting while I'm watching TV, so it could be anywhere from none (I'm really not into TV all that much) to a 5 hour bender. I also bring my knitting (or cross stitch or whatever I'm working on that moment) to work to occupy my coffee breaks and lunchs, so that may be another hour total if I take them all for their allotted time (I usually don't). However, the sock is so portable, that I've popped it into my bottom drawer and have been knitting on it every chance I get, then stashing it quickly when I hear my boss coming. I'm worried he'll notice that I seem to regularly be fussing with a drawer when he rounds the corner.
