Votes and Comments All Departed

It was quite a night of upsets at this year's Oscars. While Little Knit Sunshine took the prize among the few who voted here (hooray for voters!!!) - in Hollywood, it was The Departed that returned victorious. And what a great moment it was when Marty finally got the nod as Best Director.

Martybrow So, I guess that means he can finally relax and unknit his brow - which I believe was originally a K2 P2 Y0 Pattern .Eyebrow_1

P.S. Ok - now I know it's totally unblognice to say this, and I'll probably lose the nice readers I have, but I have to ask... is it me or does anybody else wonder why some other blogs can get 742 commenters to say "Oooo, nice sock!!"  ??

OK, there - I feel better now. Thanks.

I agree about his brows, but sometimes it looks like there is a "yo"...

Nice scarf...there, how's that? I enjoy reading your blog!

Just catching up on blogs - loved your Oscar theme!

Little Knit Sunshine, huh? I still like The Last Skein of Scotland. I was happy to see Mary finally get recognized and thought it was fantastic how they got Speilberg, Coppola, and Lucas to present it.

I tried to vote but TypePad was being mean.

Hmmmm.... peer pressure? The "347 other people have commented so I guess I should too" thought process? I'll just go clean up the milk I spilled when laughing at the Scorcese Brow pattern.

At least you have 85 bloglines subscribers! I only have 10. I used to think those with tons of commenters had been blogging much longer than I, but that's not always true. I figure those with tons of readers not only have cool stuff on their blog but also got involved with certain groups of bloggers (through swaps, etc.) and got a fan following. To be honest, I wouldn't have time to read 700 comments a day! Just know that even when I'm not commenting, I'm reading. I loved the Oscar series.

What socks?

Ha! I love that you came up with a knit pattern for his eyebrows! As for all the comments, I don't know. Sometimes I do wish I got more feedback because that was part of the reason I started a blog in the first place, but I'm grateful for the people who do comment and it's certainly a quality over quantity thing. I hope you're getting quality comments!!!!

I wonder the exact same thing :)

I'm so glad he finally got the nod. I've been lurking and loved your movies, btw. I just suck, but you knew that.

Oh, and we need more honest in knitting blogs. Too much nicey-nice is annoying. Unless it is a great pair of socks, I don't get that. I'm a sock knitter and, in the end, they are just socks.

Grr...my week got away from me & I forgot to come over & vote. Your knit movie interpretations are a favorite Oscar thing for me. :)

Blog comments...a never ending question... :) In the end, I blog for me - not for a "they like me, they really like me" response :)

Yea I have had like 3,000 hits but like 200 comments, go figure, I am not complaining though I have made some awesome friends online. You can't get so "upset" about it - blog for you not for them, it's like freakin therapy for me! Is that healthy?

What I wonder is -- how on earth many people must *read* those blogs, if 800 of those people are motivated to say "nice sock".....

Yow.

Someone mentioned my "fix a mis-crossed cable" post on her blog, and I got hundred and hundreds and hundreds of hits as a result. (usually I get about a dozen a day, just for comparison)

[blink, blink]

Who knew.

Well, I may not be a frequent "commenter" but I always ck in and you know I love your site! It's part of my daily routine!

ooooo nice socks!

So funny! I've always wondered that too. The only person who comments on my projects is my mother...
