My Anthro-Apology Cropped Poncho
I'm really excited to post the availability of my very first pattern for sale. My friend Regina bought a really cool, short poncho from Anthropology for $68.00 (why does every price there end in $8??) As usually, I said, "I can make that!" But unlike the other 100 times I've made that claim, this time I actually tried. So after many trials and numerous errors, and with apologies to Anthropology, I finally came up with something that was not exactly the same, but pretty close, very sweet and rather easy. The best part is that it uses only two skeins of Rowan Plaid, or any bulky weight yarn. It can be worn with the raglan "spines" on the sides (see our model, Michelle) so it looks like the top of a sweater, or with one spine down the front (on our lovely Teri H) so its more like a cropped poncho. On size 11 circulars, it knits up wonderfully fast, and its light enough to fit under a coat, but heavy enough to give some nice warmth. If you email me, I'll send you the pattern for $5.00 - to cover the cost of all the yarn I used trying to perfect the pattern and the cost of hiring professional models to see how it looks.
